About this piece

A sculptural coffee table set with round tops cradled in leather-wrapped bases and held by a solid walnut crossbar.

The Maori Coffee Table Set is a coffee table by Italian maker Cierre 1972, designed by Luca Erba and selected for refined, design-led interiors. Two leather surfaces wrap around and support each circular top like a mask resting on a face. A solid wood crossbar locks every component together in a bold interlocking structure. Solid yet fluid, it balances a sophisticated and primitive aesthetic. See it in person at our Johannesburg showrooms in Fourways and Kramerville.

Maori Coffee Table Set details

  • Origin: Italy
  • Designer: Luca Erba (2025)
  • Top: Multi-laminated veneered wood in bleached Canaletto walnut, or ceramic in white travertine, beige travertine, grey travertine or Provenzale.
  • Under-top beam: Solid bleached Canaletto walnut.
  • Base: Metal covered in leather with a special raw-cut edge finish, available in Soffio, Setanil and Natural Velour; edges lacquered tone-on-tone unless otherwise specified.
  • Feet: Metal lacquered in a grey gunmetal finish.
  • Note: Bleached Canaletto walnut is extremely natural and may show variations in tone and grain.
